Restaurant Review: 150 Central Park on Wonder of the Seas

We are just back from a 7-night cruise onboard the amazing Wonder of the Sea.  During our Wonder of the Seas Preview, you found that we had to give a few specialty dining options a try.

Let’s take a look at 150 Central Park and review our dining experience.

150 Central Park on Wonder of the Seas is an elegant, upscale dining venue that offers a unique and sophisticated dining experience. It is part of Royal Caribbean’s “Central Park” neighborhood, which is a stunning open-air area that brings the beauty of nature to the very heart of the ship.

The park spans multiple decks and features over 10,000 live plants, which makes it one of the most distinctive and relaxing neighborhoods on an Oasis-class ship.

Atmosphere

The restaurant features contemporary design elements, such as dark wood finishes, soft lighting, and windows that offer views of the park. This makes for a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a special evening meal while on board.

Cost

150 Central Park is an extra-fee dining venue, so reservations are recommended.  We booked our table during a Black Friday Sale, which offered 30% off, bringing the cost to $44.99 per person.

The Menu

The menu at 150 Central Park features several dishes that include high-quality meats and seafood, some of which we have never tried while cruising and several dishes that we have seen cruisers rave about.

Our Experience

Every meal starts with the Parker House Bread with truffle butter, lemon pepper, and thyme.

The bread service at dinner onboard the Wonder of the Seas was always exceptional, and this was no different. It was the perfect way to start the meal.

Starters

Next up were our starters.  I started with the Roasted Spiced Pumpkin Bisque and the Braised Short Rib.  The Pumpkin Bisque had a smooth, creamy texture that was packed with flavor.  The Short Rib was rich, juicy, and tender, practically falling apart.  The serving size of the Short Rib was also huge for an appetizer.

Leah ordered the Honey Glazed Sea Scallops. The scallops were perfectly seared, and we really enjoyed the flavor combinations of the honey, scallops, and chorizo.

Mains

Next, it was time for our main dishes.  Leah ordered the Roasted Tenderloin of Beef, which was cooked to perfection and full of flavor.  The highlight of this dish, however, was the side of truffle mashed potatoes.  They were absolutely delicious and possibly one of the best bites we had all cruise.

For my main I ordered the Lamb Wellington.  The last time I tried lamb was a few years ago on a cruise and I was not a fan.  Since this was prepared a little differently and served as a wellington, I decided to give it a try.  The waiter assured me that if I didn’t care for it, I could order something else.  Thankfully there was no need for that!  The Lamb Wellington was absolutely delicious, and I would recommend giving it a try.

Dessert

For our final course, we both knew that we needed to try the Deep-Fried Cheesecake, as we’d seen several vloggers rave about it.

While we would agree that it was a solid dessert, we didn’t think that it was the best thing we have ever had.

The Wrap Up: 150 Central Park Review

So, the final verdict – is 150 Central Park worth the extra cost?  While the food and the service were great, we do not find ourselves returning.  We’ve consistently enjoyed the complimentary dinners in the Main Dining Room, and to be honest, we didn’t feel that the meal at 150 Central Park was the best we had onboard. Ultimately, we’re glad we gave it a try, but we don’t believe the added cost justifies going back.
