Oasis of the Seas Day #7 | Sea Day
It is our last full day on board the Oasis of the Seas, which means we are packing it full of things we want to do before we leave tomorrow!
I was up pretty early today, so I ran down to the Vitality Cafe and got a Peach Smoothie. This was so good! I really wished we would have had more time to try the Vitality Cafe more often. Next cruise!
I then went back to the room to get everyone up and moving as Kenzie had her rescheduled FlowRider Lessons at 8:00am.
BREAKFAST
We wanted to grab some Johnny Rockets one last time this cruise, so we all got ready and went down to the Boardwalk right at 7:00am. Unfortunately, we misread the Cruise Compass, and Johnny Rockets didn’t open today until 8:00am. A little disappointed, but we decided to give the Windjammer another try this morning. We arrived at the buffet to find it much less crazy this early in the morning. We enjoyed a variety of breakfast foods before heading up to the Sports Deck.
MORNING PLANS
This morning, Kenzie had her FlowRider Lessons. This was a Black Friday Deal, which gave her an hour group lesson for $55. There were only 2 other people in Kenzie’s group, so she got about 20 minutes with the instructor. Worth the $55 in our eyes, and she had a blast!
After the FlowRider Lesson, Leah took Kenzie and Amelia down to the pool to find some chairs, while Maddie and I enjoyed a quick round of min-golf.
Following mini-golf, Leah and Maddie decided to give water aerobics a try.
Steven and Kenzie went down the waterslides one last time; today, all 3 were open!
LUNCH
For our final lunch onboard, El Loco Fresh was the choice for Leah and the girls. They enjoyed nachos, tacos, and quesadillas.
I loved my BBQ and smoked meats, so I had to give Port Side BBQ a try. This restaurant can only be found on the Oasis of the Seas, so it was at the top of my list to try. I got the 3-meat combo with Burnt Ends, Pulled Pork, and Brisket. It also came with 2 sides and a dessert. I went with the Smoked Mac and Cheese and Coleslaw for the sides and with the Chocolate Brookie for dessert. I also decided to get the Banana Dream as an additional dessert. The food was fantastic! I will say that the Brisket and Banana Dream were my least favorite things on the plate, but overall, a very good meal. Port Side BBQ is an upcharge, but this combo gave me a ton of food, and cost me about $20. It could have fed 2 of us, easily.
AFTERNOON PLANS
After lunch, we all decided to enjoy a little more time by the pool. Leah and I enjoyed our last drink by the pool. Leah went with the Drink of the Day, which happened to be the Watermelon Margarita and I went with the Lime and Coconut. Can’t go wrong with either!
The girls all got their final ice cream cone by the pool.
Maddie and Amelia then went down to the room for a quick nap while Leah started to pack – nooo!!
Steven and Kenzie made a stop at the Big Boardwalk Celebration. This was new to us! They had cake pops, cupcakes, games for the kids, live music, and they had a towel folding demonstration. Very cool event, and something for the whole family to enjoy.
After the kids rested up a bit, Leah and Kenzie wanted to try the Ultimate Abyss, which is a slide that takes you speeding down 10 stories! Leah tried it on the Harmony of the Seas, and said it was much slower on the Oasis. While Leah and Kenzie were waiting in line, I took Maddie and Amelia on the Merry Go Round and then to grab a shack from Johnny Rockets.
After the slide, we had time to squeeze in one more thing before dinner. The kids decided with giving the Rock-Climbing Wall a try. They didn’t make it very far but enjoyed giving it a try.
DINNER
It was our last dinner in the MDR and time for the kids to get one last balloon animal from Ariza. Tonight was a crab.
For appetizers, Leah went with the Mediterranean Tapas, I ordered the Seafood Cake, Maddie and Amelia got the fruit, and Kenzie ordered the French Onion Soup and Caesar Salad. For those that are counting, that would be a Caesar Salad for Kenzie every night this cruise!
For entrees tonight, Leah, Kenzie, and I ordered the Steak with Chimichurri, and Maddie and Amelia got the Chicken Tenders.
For dessert, Leah and I went with the highly recommended Layered Peach Trifle, Maddie got the Brownie and Ice Cream, and Kenzie and Amelia got the Ice Cream.
During dinner, we enjoyed the farewell parade by the dining room staff. The girls even got to partake in it! We will give a full review on service in another post, but Ariza and Erroll were the best staff we have ever had on a cruise! Those smiles on the kids’ faces above is what we got to see every night thanks to these two!
EVENING PLANS
After dinner, we wanted to check out the Promenade for some last-minute shopping and stopped at Sorrento’s for one last slice of pizza.
We then made our way up to the Aqua Theater to see if we could get into Aqua80 again. We had already seen the show, but it was so good the first time! We were able to get in, and we got better seats this time. Maddie and Kenzie decided to sit in the Splash Zone again! It was another great performance by the crew and this show is not to be missed if you are on the Oasis of the Seas!
After the show, we all took one more trip around the Merry Go Round. Leah then took Maddie and Amelia back to the room, while Kenzie and I took one last walk around the ship. It is so pretty at night all lit up! We found a few more ducks along the way and then decided to head back to the room.
It is a sad day when you see the luggage line the hallways!
We disembark and head home tomorrow.
