Wonder of the Seas Day #2 | CocoCay’s Hideaway Beach

It is time for Day #2 onboard Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas!
Today, we are docked at Royal Caribbean’s private island, CocoCay — a port that’s quickly become one of our favorites. With its white sandy beaches, fun-filled waterparks and pools, and delicious food, there’s truly something here for everyone to enjoy. Be sure to check out our Top 10 Things to do at CocoCay.
With this being a kid-free vacation for us, we decided to book CocoCay’s adults-only, Hideaway Beach.
Breakfast
I was up bright and early this morning—no way we were missing a minute of beach time at Hideaway Beach. We had our sights set on getting off the ship right at 8:00am to soak it all in.
Coffee in hand from Café Promenade, I took a peaceful walk to the aft of Deck 5 to catch the view as we pulled into CocoCay. It was a pretty awesome sight to start the day.

The weather wasn’t exactly on our side this morning—cloudy skies, a bit of wind, and a high of just 70 degrees on the forecast. Not the tropical vibe we were hoping for, but hey, we’re still in paradise.
Once we were docked, I made a quick run up to the Windjammer for breakfast. Honestly, I was still pretty full from yesterday—but hey, it’s a cruise after all! I threw together a breakfast sandwich with a biscuit, fried egg, and sausage. Leah opted to skip breakfast today—clearly showing more restraint than I did!
Hideaway Beach
Before we knew it, it was time to hop off the ship and make our way to Hideaway Beach for the day!
We strolled down the pier, taking in the views as we headed toward the island. As we reached the end, we were welcomed by island dancers and the sounds of lively Caribbean music—definitely the kind of welcome that sets the tone for a perfect day.
Hideaway Beach is tucked away on the south side of the island. While there’s a tram that’ll take you straight there from the pier, we decided to walk the scenic trail instead. It was an easy 5–10-minute walk with some great photo ops along the way.

Welcome to Hideaway
Once we reached the entrance, we scanned our SeaPass cards and stepped into what felt like our own private slice of paradise. Hideaway Beach features a massive heated infinity pool with a swim-up bar, a beautiful white-sand beach, and a couple of food spots that are exclusive to the area. There were also plenty of cabanas available to rent—but let’s just say those weren’t in our budget this time around.
Because the weather was still a bit gloomy—overcast and breezy—there were tons of open seats when we arrived. We snagged a couple of lounge chairs right by the pool entrance and conveniently close to the swim-up bar.
The bar was already up and running, so we jumped into the heated pool (which felt amazing) and grabbed our first round of drinks. I went with a classic Mojito, and Leah ordered a Moscow Mule. We sipped our drinks while taking in the ocean view from the infinity edge—it was the kind of relaxing that only happens on a cruise.

As the morning rolled into the afternoon, the energy started to pick up. We met a fun couple from Canada and another from Florida. At one point, someone pulled out an inflatable beer pong table (thanks, Royal Caribbean!), and naturally, we joined in on a few games. With the Deluxe Beverage Package, the drinks kept coming, and so did the good times.
Eventually, the DJ kicked things off and champagne guns made an appearance. It turned into a full-blown pool party, and we happily stayed planted in the water and by the swim-up bar for most of the day.
We did manage to break away long enough to grab a chicken sandwich with mozzarella sticks—both were delicious. We had plans to try the pizza that’s exclusive to Hideaway Beach, but honestly, we were having way too much fun in the pool and lost all track of time.
Dinner
After an unforgettable day at Hideaway Beach, we hopped on the shuttle back to the ship and headed straight to our stateroom. The original plan was to get ready and head to the Main Dining Room for dinner… but after all the sun, swimming, and cocktails, a quick nap turned into a couple hour nap.
When we finally woke up, we decided to keep things easy and head to the Windjammer for dinner instead. It happened to be Italian Night, so we loaded up our plates with a mix of pastas and breads. The highlight—the Chicken Parmesan, hands down.
Thankfully, we didn’t have any evening entertainment booked, so after dinner we decided to call it an early night. It had been a full day of fun in the sun, and some rest was definitely well-earned.
The Wrap Up: Wonder of the Seas | CocoCay’s Hideaway Beach
As always, CocoCay delivered—cloudy skies or not! The weather may not have been picture-perfect, but Hideaway Beach more than made up for it.
Favorite Drink:
Steven – Classic Mojito.
Leah – Moscow Mule.

Favorite Bite: Both Leah and I agreed—the Chicken Sandwich at Hideaway was the standout. Crispy, flavorful, and totally hit the spot.
Now it’s time to rest up—we’ve got our first Sea Day tomorrow, and we’re more than ready for some relaxed cruising ahead!
