Oasis of the Seas Day #2 | Nassau, Bahamas

It is Day #2 on our 7-Night Caribbean Cruise on the Oasis of the Seas!  Today we make our first port stop in Nassau, Bahamas.  This will be our first-time visiting Nassau. We looked at a possible excursion to do in Nassau, but they were all really expensive, and we decided to just plan to get off and shop a little at the newly remodeled port.

BREAKFAST

Maddie, Kenzie, and I were up before Leah and Amelia, so we decided to give Johnny Rockets a try for breakfast.  This was a first for us.  I ordered the B.E.L.T Sandwich, Maddie ordered the Sausage Breakfast Sandwich, and Kenzie went with eggs and bacon.  This whole meal was SO good, and we have to try to go back again this cruise.  There is no upcharge for Johnny Rockets for breakfast on Oasis Class Ships.

On our way back to the room we stopped at Park Cafe and grabbed some breakfast sandwiches and fruit for Leah and Amelia, as well as some iced lattes to help us get going.  It is nice that Royal has a few different locations onboard that we are able to grab the specialty coffees.

MORNING PLANS

We had originally planned to get off the ship right away in the morning to walk around the port and then get back on and enjoy the ship in the afternoon, but we heard that there was a chance of rain in the afternoon, so we decided to enjoy the pool in the morning while the sun was peeking out!  We also hit up a couple of the waterslides.

Leah and I enjoyed a Drink of the Day by the pool.  Today’s drink was the Mai Tai.

LUNCH

By about 11:30am, we were hungry…again!  So, we decided to give El Loco Fresh a try.  Now, El Loco Fresh is a grab-and-go option serving up Mexican food!  It was added to the Oasis of the Seas during her last refurbishment, and ever since they made the announcement that this was getting added, we couldn’t wait to give it a try!

We arrived at El Loco Fresh shortly after it opened, and the line was already long!  It did go quickly, but either plan to arrive right when they open or plan to wait in line for a bit.  Did we mention it is also located on the Pool Deck, which is so nice!

We enjoyed nachos, quesadillas, burritos, tacos, all topped off with all of your favorite quesos, guacamole Pico de Gallo, and salsas!  We will be back again this cruise!

AFTERNOON PLANS

Leah, Maddie, and I wanted to get off and walk around the port to do some shopping.  Amelia and Kenzie did not want to get off the ship, so we dropped them off at Adventure Ocean.

We got off the ship and made our way to the shopping area.  We were in port today with 2 other ships, so it didn’t seem overly crowded.  We made stops at a few of the shops, but in all honesty, nothing was really jumping out at us.  A lot of the stores seemed overpriced and didn’t offer a ton of items that interested us.  The port itself was nice, but overall, we were kind of underwhelmed.

As we were walking back to the ship it started to rain and we noticed the sky was getting pretty dark in one direction.  We picked up the pace, but before we could make it back to the ship, mother nature let loose, and it POURED!  These raindrops were just pelting us!  Between the wind and the rain, we were all drenched by the time we were back on board.  We heard someone say they got 2’’ of rain in those 30 minutes.  Despite getting soaked, we all had a really good laugh running back to the ship.  Oh, the memories we will have!

Staff members were handing out towels to everyone as we walked back on the ship.  We got dried off as much as we could and made a quick stop at Cafe Promenade for a Jerk Pork Wrap and a coffee.  We also stopped over at Sorrento’s for BBQ Chicken Pizza.

I ran up to Adventure Ocean to grab Kenzie and Amelia, while Leah and Maddie started to get ready for our first Formal Night!  The girls were all so excited to get their hair done and put on a fancy dress.

DINNER

When we were all dressed and ready, we made our way down to the Main Dining Room for dinner.  Ariza and Errol greeted us with a smile and Ariza had a balloon animal for all of the kids!  Now, we might be a little old-school, but we really enjoy the Formal Nights and seeing everyone dressed up, especially in the MDR.

Food and service were again outstanding tonight.

EVENING PLANS

We had reservations in the Royal Theater tonight for Jeff Tracta.  Jeff is a comedian, impersonator, and singer.  He was really talented, and the show was really enjoyable.  Showtime Drink – Non-alcoholic Miami Vice.

After the show, we decided to call it an early night and were in bed by 9:30pm.

Tomorrow is our stop at CocoCay, Bahamas!  This is our favorite port, and we are hoping the weather cooperates so we can enjoy everything this port has to offer!

No Elevator Challenge Update – Lost Leah, Kenzie, and Amelia today.
