Oasis of the Seas Day #4 | Sea Day

It is our first Sea Day onboard the Oasis of the Seas, and today is a day full of trying new dining venues for breakfast and lunch!

Leah and I woke up around 4:00am due to the ship really rocking back and forth, which means we were finally able to leave CocoCay, almost 12 hours after our scheduled departure!  We did end up falling back to sleep for a little longer.

7:30am came around and we were all awake and ready to head up to Deck 16 for Kenzie’s FlowRider Lesson.   This was another Black Friday Deal we booked.  It was an hour group lesson on the FlowRider for $55.  Once we got up to Deck 16, we learned that they had to reschedule the lesson to Day #7 due to how much the ship was rocking.

BREAKFAST

With no set plans for the day, we decided to head to the MDR for breakfast.  In all of our cruises, we had never tried it, so we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to do so.  We were seated right away, and our beverage orders were taken.  Leah and I decided to try the Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice, which was included in our Refreshment Package.  The juice was quite tasty!  For our meal, Leah and Kenzie ordered the Ham and Cheese Omelet, Maddie and Amelia got the French Toast, and I ordered the Classic Hollandaise.  The food and the service were great.  From start to finish, breakfast took about an hour to an hour and a half in the MDR.

MORNING PLANS

After breakfast, it was still pretty cloudy and windy, so we headed over the Aqua Theater for the Top Tier Event.  For this cruise, we are currently Emerald Crown and Anchor Members – just 2 cruises away until Diamond!  We were greeted by several crew members upon our arrival and were given some champagne, mimosas, and fruit punch for the kids.  The Cruise Director and Captain both gave brief speeches, and they highlighted the top Crown and Anchor Members on board.  We also enjoyed a brief performance by one of the Aqua Show team members.

After the event, the girls rode the Merry Go Round a few times before we went up the pool for about an hour.  All of the pools were currently closed due to how much the ship was rocking, but the sun was finally starting to peak out!

Naturally, whenever you are on the pool deck, you have to make a stop to get an ice cream cone, so that is just what we did!

LUNCH

For lunch today, we had lunch reservations at Giovanni’s Table.  This was a Black Friday Sale that we booked.  For the 5 of us, lunch cost $49.99 total.  We had always wanted to try Giovanni’s and at this price, we couldn’t pass it up!

For appetizers, Leah ordered the Arugula Salad, I got the Caprese, and the kids ordered the Caprese.

For entrees, Leah ordered the Gnocchi Gorgonzola, and I ordered the Carbonara.  Maddie went with the Chicken Piccata, Kenzie ordered the Filet Mignon, and Amelia ordered the Spaghetti.

For Dessert, Leah ordered the Cannoli, I got the Tiramisu, and the girls all ordered Ice Cream.

Overall, this meal was very good.  The main entrees were our favorite and we thought that at the price we paid, this meal was worth it!

AFTERNOON PLANS

After lunch, Leah and I needed a coffee, so we stopped at Cafe Promenade to grab a latte.  I ended up taking Amelia back to the room for a nap.  While she was napping, I enjoyed some sun on the balcony.  It was finally out, and the winds were pretty calm!  Leah took Maddie and Kenzie up to the Sports Court for some Open Soccer and then to the Promenade to Regalia Jewlery for their free bracelet for the day.

When Leah got back to the room, the girls watched a little TV, while Leah and I enjoyed a bottle of wine out on the balcony.  Royal Caribbean allows each passenger, that is of drinking age, to bring a 750mL bottle of wine with them on the cruise.

We all got ready for dinner and made our way down to the Main Dining Room.  Tonight’s dinner menu theme was Italian.  When we arrived at our table, Ariza had made flower balloons for the girls tonight!

Leah started her meal with the Minestrone and the Beef Carpaccio, and I got the Crispy Arancini.  Maddie and Amelia went with the Fruit Cup, and Kenzie ordered the Ceaser Salad.

For our entrees tonight, Leah ordered the Chicken Parmesan, and I ordered the Lasagna Al Forno and the Mushroom Risotto.  Maddie ordered the Grilled Cheese.  Kenzie got the Steak, and Amelia ordered the Burger.

Next up for dessert, Leah ordered the Oat and Berry Tart, and I got the Chocolate Hazelnut Cake.  The kids all went with the Ice Cream.

Another great night of food and service in the MRD.

EVENING PLANS

After dinner, we had a little bit of time before our evening entertainment in the Royal Theater, so we decided to head up to the Boardwalk and let the kids ride the Merry Go Round a few times.  Leah and I went over to Playmakers and ordered the Drink of the Day.  Today was the Dark and Stormy – dark rum and ginger beer.  To be honest, this one was not our favorite.

We then made our way over to the Royal Theater to see Royal Caribbean’s, One Sky.  We couldn’t really follow a story line, but the dancers, aerial artists, and singers were all amazing.

After the show we went to the Promenade and got a treat at the Café Promenade and some pizza from Sorrento’s.  We enjoyed our evening snacks while listening to the live Caribbean music playing on the Promenade.  It was then time to call it a night.

We make a stop in Labadee, Haiti tomorrow!
