Oasis of the Seas Day #8 | Disembarkation

It is time to disembark and head back home to reality.  Sad day!

Our flight leaves Miami at 12:25pm, so we opted for the Self-Assist Disembarkation, which requires us to carry our own luggage off the ship.  We’ve never done this with the kids before, but we felt like we needed to get off the ship as soon as we were able to, just to ensure we made it to the airport with plenty of time.

BREAKFAST

Leah and I were up early so we ran up to the Windjammer and then Park Cafe for some breakfast sandwiches, donuts, hashbrowns, bacon, and coffee.  We also grabbed a few boxes of cereal to take for a snack for the kids later.

We enjoyed one last breakfast on our balcony overlooking Miami.

DISEMBARKATION

We were cleared to disembark around 7:30am.  It was such a smooth process getting off the ship and through customs.  Royal Caribbean really has this process nailed!

Once we made it through customs, Leah booked an UberXL, which arrived within minutes.  Traffic was light at the time, and we made it to the Miami Airport in about 20 minutes.  Our Uber driver did say that once it hits about 9:00am or 10:00am traffic really gets backed up, so we were glad that we left when we did.

Winners of the No Elevator Challenge – Maddie and me! Don’t know how we did it all week, but we survived!

This past week on the Oasis of the Seas was a memorable one.  This was our first cruise back since 2020 and it reminded us of why we fell in love with cruising in the first place.  We may have had some rough weather the first few days, but with that came a lot of laughter and memories that we will not forget!

We are so grateful that we have the opportunity to travel with our children and really do enjoy sharing our adventures with you and we hope that you enjoyed following along with us this past week.

Our next cruise is on the Wonder of the Seas in 2025!
